Andrea Schelling’s haute couture fashion seems conjured out of a golden nutshell. The materials for her sensual day and night creations include velvet, silk, chiffon, organza and brocade. Decorating her precious models with beads, sequins, feathers and lace, her creations captivate through their exquisite workmanship and perfect fit. With a luxurious model of silk chiffon, Andrea Schelling recently won over the Leipzig Opera Ball’s jury and was awarded the Golden Ball Innovation Prize for Fashion Design 2009.
At Berlin’s Goethepark - the upscale location of both of Ms. Schelling’s showroom and studio - dresses, costumes and suits of sublime charm await every customer’s extraordinary occasion. Beyond day and night fashion, there are bridal models and precious accessories. And her fine, individually finished models are not just appreciated by celebrities such as Milla Jovovich, Andrea Sawatzki,Susanne Lothar, Jeannette Hain, Anna-Maria Mühe and Donata Wenders. All pieces are custom-tailored - often intricately by hand - in Ms. Schelling’s own studio.
With her sensual creativity, Andrea Schelling has also designed costumes for various film, TV and theatre productions, including a number of prize award ceremonies. For her work at the Weimar German National Theatre the designer won outstanding reviews and enthusiastic applause. She has designed costumes for the stagings of Maria Stuart, Berenice, Torquato Tasso, Hamlet – No Roof Access, Gefährliche Menschen and the opera Tosca.
