There is a clear eastern inspiration in the Fall Winter 2009 collection. The boyish layered look of traditional India, combining loose pants, tunic shirts and short suit jackets creates a refreshingly modern and comfortable look for women. The more sensual sari influence with soft drapey fabrics, colourful prints and decorative detailing adds a femininity and playfulness to the collection. Prominent silhouettes are a new "tulip" cocoon style cut, that gives a soft sculpted look, evident in both slacks, short puffball skirts and even a long jersey boob dress. In addition, the drape of indian inspired jodphur pants with generous pleats around the hips and slimmer legs feel full of grace, elegance and above all comfort and are a focal point of the Fall collection. Suit jackets are also central to the look, contrasting well with the softer more unstructured pieces, whether it be a cropped double-breasted style in fine wool, a fitted feminine style in deep velvet or a boyish boxy shape in corduroy with armpatches. Jersey tops and dressses are full of drape in both shiny and matt surfaces, with folds, gentle ruffles and pleats that give a relaxed decorative feel. Mohair has been a focal point for knits, it's hairy surface adding naturally to the overall elegant ethnic feel, both in shaded tones for pullovers or soft melanges for boxy cardigans and longer tunic styles or with large organic handknit motifs. Filippa K Man Fall Winter 2009 Filippa K Man Fall Winter 2009 is traditionally classic with a roughed up edge. A softer approach is created by washing and wrinkling shirts and suit jackets introducing a slightly bohemian look that feels refreshingly relaxed. Inspiration comes from english manor houses, with a lived in old aristocratic feel, and the intellectual charm of the mildly eccentric professor, fashionably unselfconscious with well-worn clothes. Outerwear reflects this classic British mood, with contemporary versions of both the waxed hunting jacket and the duffel coat, aswell as tweeds, lambswool sweaters and flannel check shirts. Corduroy and melange suit jackets with arm patches and mismatched buttons add to the lived in look, hinting at the fact that the garments have already been used. Slightly looser pants, yet still slim at the cuff, teamed up with a slimmer shorter double-breasted suit jacket creates a new silhouette for Filippa K Man. Knits are chunky and structured in cotton/wool blends or hairy mohair, with an emphasis on shawl cardigans. Jersey is washed and relaxed for a masculine ruggedness, but also drapey and soft with button openings for a softer aspect. 200 Shops for Filippa K
