The brand, established in 1991, is mostly addressed to cosmopolitan women, to those who are always looking on to International trends and to young women who are extremely aware of their own personality and seductive aspects. The brand was born in 1991 based an intuition of Wicky Hassan, Creative Director and Co-founder of the Sixty group, after considering there were no denims especially designed for women on the market. The feminine universe had indeed no alternative to buying and wearing the classic five pocket men’s model in a smaller size. By deepening the research on details of the typical ‘70s fashion with special focus on low waist and bell bottom trousers, Wicky Hassan thought of making trousers designed on the feminine body, to reflect and answer the needs of any type of silhouette. The five-pocket denim was thus revisited by slightly lifting the waistline on the back of the trousers and lowering it on the front, designing a different size for knees, thighs and side’s curves. So, for the first time, modeling and creativity come together with “Tommy”, the first denim especially designed for women, best seller of Miss Sixty collections for many years and pioneer for all the other brands on the market. From 1991 onwards, Miss Sixty experienced a continuous development and evolution: year 2000 sees the production of the first shoe line, 2002 sees the signing of a license agreement with Marcolin S.p.A. for the production of eyeglasses and sunglasses collections while 2004 is the year of the partnership with Coty Inc. for the production and distribution of Miss Sixty fragrances. 2005 sees the agreement with Morellato for jewellery design and production recalling the brand’s style, followed in 2007 by the decision to complete the offer with a collection of original and sophisticated watches. Finally, in 2009 we have the partnerships with Alcatel mobile phone for the marketing of the first Miss Sixty Mobile clamshell phone and with Gabel Group for the new Miss Sixty bed linen and bath linen collections. Next to an evolution which brought the brand to compare new creative settings, Miss Sixty remained loyal to denims, a fabric which needs to be modeled before creating and diversifying. Still today, denim is washed, treated, transformed to find new forms of expression through trousers, skirts, leisure time outfits and accessories like shoes, bags and belts. During the last 19 years, Miss Sixty followed a development and maturity process which led it to become the expression of a real lifestyle universe. Miss Sixty means creativity, energy, freedom to interpret trends in a mix&match of inspirations leading to collections with a surprising essence, sensual and ironic at the same time. Collections are distributed worldwide in the trendiest boutiques, department stores, MISS SIXTY stores and are also available on www.misssixty.com, the brand’s largest online flagship store. Wicky Hassan was born in 1955 in Tripoli, Libya, and then moved to Rome with his family. After graduating in foreign languages, he began painting, igniting an enthusiasm for the arts that would influence his entire career. Wicky Hassan turned to fashion in 1983 when, after managing an apparel shop in Rome, he decided to open a small store in Via Del Corso in Rome (Italy), where people could buy the most directional and trendy labels on the market (difficult to find anywhere else). The store, named “ENERGIE”, was soon a success: a place to celebrate the art and culture of the early 80’s where several artists worked with Hassan to create exhibitions and special store front windows. The success of ENERGIE store led to the creation of a small collection in 1989 and when Wicky Hassan first met Renato Rossi, an engineer and entrepreneur, the partnership was finally formed: Renato saw Wicky first sketches and encouraged him to further develop his collection. The two turned ENERGIE into an international brand under the SIXTY group’s portfolio and the new partnership was brought to life and experienced immediate accomplishment. In 2006 Wicky Hassan’s creative vision was honoured as he won the prestigious Pitti Immagine Uomo Award 450 Stores for MISS SIXTY
