NIKE SPORTSWEAR COLLECTIONS

Who would have thought a canary would be the icon that led a country to record setting victories? The Nike Sportswear Brasil collection represents the nations undisputed skill and athleticism on the pitch, whilst delving deeper into the story of Canarinho, first launched in Spring 2011.

For Fall 2011, The Nike Sportswear Brasil collection reflects the color of a nation born to play. Celebrating their obsession, passion fueling power and victories in some of the great battles played out to the tune of the beautiful game. The collection is imbued with stories that transcend football in Brasil. This isn't just another celebration of the samba, balletic moves or the carnival spirit.

A unique graphic language that treats tradition with reverence, but elevates icons, reworks the canary on the chest into a symbol of everything the opposition fear when they face the yellow shirt. Even the city of São Paulo's coat of arms has been remixed into something visually striking.

The Nascido Para Jogar (Portuguese for "Born to Play") slogan recurs across crewneck T-Shirts, while the XI Roman numerals adorn short-sleeve and long-sleeved Rugby shirts.

Camouflage smothers the iconic AW77 and an appropriately rugged ripstop N98 track jacket, accompanied by a collection of matching fitted hats. Even the classic Windrunner gets an all-over reworking covered in the Canarinho shield logo.

The final touch to the collection is a series of Canarinho-inspired polos celebrating some of Europe's legendary football institutions that have embraced and celebrated their own Canarinho spirits.

Also this fall, the Nike Sportswear K.O.B.E. collection builds on Kobe Bryant's vision to celebrate the groundwork laid by pioneers and life experiences that made him into a paradigm of performance and excellence. Every story needs a beginning and each K.O.B.E. piece builds on the symbolic components that delivered the assist in making him the man he is today.

Providing a direct continuation of the collection's inaugural acronym theme of Know, Originate, Battle and Elevate, the Nike Sportswear K.O.B.E. designs are an unorthodox approach to athlete apparel ranges. Just as Nike Sportswear remixes performance for the everyday, Kobe's choice of reference points become a unique graphic language that merges the past, present and future.

With the spade emblem referencing Kobe's former high school, the color scheme representing his origins in a childhood spent in Italy and his African-American roots, the shield representing battle and the XXIV Roman numerals, another nod to Italy, representing his 24 jersey number each element is worked into the new season's pieces.

The waterproof Storm-FIT K.O.B.E. M65 Jacket is another standout, amplifying the battle element with its militaristic styling and removable patches for an iconic look with options.
