Green fashion made in Germany
The designers Antje Wolter and Anne Gorke founded the label VILDE SVANER in September 2008.
The designs combine elegance and urbanity; they are straightforward and also modern. Timelessness gets connected with contemporary streams. Aesthetics and purism shall not exclude functionalism. VILDE SVANERs work focuses on traditional values like trust, continuance and sincerity. Design and construction of the collections are the main aspect of the label. Different approaches and preferences influence the designing process - Italy meets Scandinavia, elegance meets understatement, present meets past. VILDE SVANER does not design basics but modest extravagance made of organic cotton, nettle and recycled man’s shirts. Instead of winter- and summer collection, the designers offer timeless items that are easy to combine and seasonally independent. Sustainable production is a matter of course for the designers. VILDE SVANER combines ecological and economic sustainability with aesthetically sophisticated fashion. The fabrics are certified organic and fairly traded.
The label keeps a strict eye on production concerning quality, origin and sustainability. The suppliers of all used fabrics are situated in Germany. The fabrics provided by them are made in Germany or do have a certified origin. VILDE SVANER also tries to keep a personal contact with all suppliers. The production is partly carried out by local tailorings; the designers themselves are doing the remaining work stages. This way the production chain can be entirely traced back by customers. The dyeing of the fabric is done by the designers themselves, using dye that is at least ÖKO-Tex-Standard 100 or even Global Organic Textile
Standard (GOTS) certified.
