LnA was founded in the summer of 2007 by California natives, Lauren Alexander and April Leight, who - after bonding over their fashion backgrounds and their love of raiding their boyfriend’s closets – realised that although they might want them to, his tees weren’t fitted to flatter their bodies and so came up with the LnA concept...
As Lauren says “We wanted to design the perfect basic, the new staple for every woman’s wardrobe. Our goal was to create the new lifestyle t-shirt that mastered fit, versatility, and colour range”. That summer, the “Boyfriend Tee collection” launched at Barneys New York, Madison, and Henri Bendel and flew out....

That first season saw the line featured in just about every magazine on the market and on the backs of celebrities like Nicole Richie and Mischa Barton and pretty swiftly.
Alexander and Leight decided that they needed to expand the line. “It was a natural progression for us”, says Leight. “Our idea behind the line has always been to create perfect basics with some edge”, says Alexander. So stunning zipper leggings in brilliant colours were added to the mix, and the essential tee shirt range augmented with every conceivable shape out there, from lace edged to super low...“ Our focus is always finding a new way to put our own spin on basics. Every season comes new inspiration and a new twist”.
