ACNE STUDIOS SPRING SUMMER 2013 WOMEN’S SHOW
“For the Acne Studios Spring/Summer 2013 collection we wanted to be honest in showing the process of the way we work. Defining important elements to the way we design, we outlined three key words:
Music, is my background and is incredibly important to me and the team, acting as a major inspiration in our lives.
Collage is very important in our process of design, as we work in an abstract way, clashing inspiration and influences.
Then New, as we are always striving to explore something new and contemporary. The end result is a clash of romantic silhouettes, jockey outfits and street style. Fabrics this season are natural with crushed linens, cottons, washed silks and leathers contrasting with nylons, woven stripes and techni- cal double duchesse. Colours range from romantic whites and naturals to strong colours referencing jockey uniforms, contrasting with a hit of black.”
ACNE STUDIOS SPRING SUMMER 2013 MEN’S SHOW
“Starting with the idea of contrasting workwear, tailoring and sportswear the Acne Studios Spring Summer 2013 Men’s collection clashes the sartorial with more casual silhouettes. Proportions are voluminous and relaxed, contrasting with more figure hugging garments. Fabrics vary from overdyed jacquard stripes, stiff denim, cotton shirting and leathers sewn into patchwork stripes. Colours are intentionally restrained referencing a very known Swedish colour palette, with a base in indigo blue and grey and shades of sand and beige. Graphic stripes are worked in different repetitive ways across trousers, tunics and suiting. The look is topped off with a take on the classic panama hat. A collaboration between Acne Studios and Italian hat Manufacturer Borsalino.”
