As if the subversive claim “paint it black” was stitched into the sophisticated designs, the re-discovery of femininity finds a post-romantic echo in the luxurious, clear-black cloth of AUGUSTIN TEBOUL.
An aesthetic that arises from the conception of two contrasting personalities: German-born Annelie Augustin with subtle, minimal shapes and her sophisticated mind and French-born Odély Teboul, the rather chaotic, nostalgic craftsman.
Both graduated with honors at Esmod Paris in 2006. Subsequently Annelie worked for Yohji Yamamoto for Adidas and Odély for Jean Paul Gaultier. In 2009 they combine their visions in the collection “cadavre exquis” that was honored with three awards in both France and Germany. Thus encouraged they decided to transform the project into a label, positioned on the edge between ready-to-wear and haute couture: AUGUSTIN TEBOUL. In 2011 the label received the highest priced German fashion award SYFB.
Inspired by Surrealism the designers leave enough space for chance in the process of creation, while they insist on flawless workmanship and finest materiality. Deeply routed in the craft of tailoring the duo combines poetry and gravity in their cutting-edge designs. AUGUSTIN TEBOUL stands for an exclusive, avant-garde and yet mind-blowingly feminine look.
„HOLY ME“ - Spring/ Summer 2014
On Wednesday 3rd of July 2013, the french-german designer duo AUGUSTIN TEBOUL presented their new spring/summer collection 2014 during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. At HO | Berlin the guests were taken to a special pilgrimage.
A supermarket from the sixties with its simple elegance was the extraordinary setting for the fashion show of the designers Annelie Augustin and Odély Teboul. White panels seperated individual corridors in which the models strided through fog and light. Accompanied by a supernatural electric mix by producer Martin Hossbach and Nick Höppner, 24 models styled by Theophile Hermand presentated the new spring/ summer collcetion.
Inspired by Christanity, the new creations of AUGUSTIN TEBOUL combine modesty and opulence. Austere linear volumes and straight cuts are combined with refined, sublime embellishments. Mulitlayered lace, three-dimensional crochet and fine emroidery made of SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS™ remind in this season of churchy ornaments and illustrate the religious inspiration.
For the spring/summer collection the two designers use their favorite materials, such as leather, knitwear, silk, muslin and combine these with fringe and elements of laquer. Leather shorts, crochet capes, tops and embroidered dresses give the collection a summery character. Even the headpieces show the christian inspiration and underlines the contradictions through fine crocheted collars and opulent jewellery that graced around the faces of the models. We would like to thank all our cooperation partners. Special thanks refer to Sebastian Professional, for supporting the artistic expression of the show with their creations.
