Alicia Bell tells stories. The kind of stories you love to hear, and see, and put on… creating your own little role in her tale. This story is full of magic and whimsy, romance and sophistication. A setting with a most stylish backdrop, the clothes are created from a perfect marriage of feminine Victorian style and clean modern cuts. And yet, these "stories" can be worn by real women, with non-fairy-tale lives. Bell's signature crisp shirts and delicate dresses are well-made and elegant, yet sturdy enough for a full day of work and dinner afterwards.
Bell designs are made with a real woman's body in mind. Bell is the ultimate for the girly-girl at heart, and symbolizes the perfect marriage of romance and real-life design. Alicia Bell's clothes appeal to the delicate maiden within and can still be worn to work, to the store, or to a coffee shop with friends. Bell by Alicia Bell reflects a deep understanding of classic femininity, confidence and well-tailored clothing, by both the designer and her customer.
Alicia Bell was educated at Parsons School of Design in New York. Her talent and interest in fashion have taken her abroad to work with legendary designers such as Vivienne Westwood. Her line reflects the fine craftsmanship and individual sense of style taught by her established mentors. Details and tailoring are impeccable in every garment whether it is a frayed skirt hem, a ruffled collar on a cape, or a small grouping of box pleats at the back of a hobble skirt.
The Bell brand is a fresh whimsical reinterpretation of Victorian femininity expressed in wearable clothes for modern women. The brand takes inspiration from Vintage, yet is entirely contemporary. The concept for the Bell shirts is its ability to be customized to each individual using the Bell details to create a unique look. It is the classic tailoring in fine cotton shirting with details such as silk charmuse piping, satin covered buttons and Bell pleated cuffs that are the crucial element which sets Bell apart from the rest.
Bell has been featured in Italian Vogue, Vogue, Elle, Women’s Wear Daily, W, Jane, Wallpaper, In Style, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Lucky, US Weekly and The New York Times. Bell now has a childres line called “little bell” for ages 2-12..
