SPRING SUMMER 2016
MY OWN MUSE
The red and orange colors leave a vibrant statement on the pale sky, for only minutes later to be absorbed by textured white clouds. As far as the eye reaches checked sunbeds run along the shoreline, creating artistic geometric patterns in the sand. The silent breeze runs through my hair reflecting an imperfect silhouette into the water. I am IRIS – my own muse.
INVASION OF SUMMER
This season continues its tribute to the Gentle Woman – the sophisticated and chic woman with a strong personal state of mind. But it has a new touch of les affaires inviting an invasion of summer. Find the updated trouser suit – a men’s inspired crème and black checked suit made in textured fabrics for a loose fit. Or go with the new suiting opportunity – a translation of the pyjamas set offering an off-duty luxurious appeal.
Summer white dominates the collection – used in pinstripes, checks flurry silks and in a new interpreted version of Broderie Anglaise. This new kind of lacework is either done with modern, sharp geometric patterns or simply soft and wavy looking, almost like knitwear.
NEW NOSTALGIA SILHOUETTES
The collection has a touch of nostalgia – a tribute to the silhouettes of the 70’s. Trousers are either slim and elongated with flared hem– the 70’s pants rendered in leather and pinstripe– or wide-legged with masculine tailoring references. Another reference is the knitwear – find head-to-toe rib knit for an understated and contemporary look, or knitted dresses with a soft silhouette. The collection celebrates the imperfect and free spirit attitude of the 70’s women by introducing flirty silhouettes in soft silk, asymmetric hemlines and laces.
DETAILS, PRINT AND ARTWORK
Print of checks and grids run playfully throughout the collection and can be worn from top to toe, or simply solo depending on mood. The black and white flower print is an artful contrast used on floaty dresses. Statement details are handmade fringes used as delicate finish throughout the collection and together with the textured fabrics, it adds a playful and sophisticated look. Artwork serves as a luxurious and artistic detail – the mismatch of sequin sizes and dimensional textures adds volume and movement to the collection.
White dominates along with soft crèmes. The classic of burgundy appears interesting to the pale universe and paired with a bright orange or vibrant red it is the statement look of this summer. For the long summer nights, add a powerful dark palette of a new navy blue, emerald green and indigo.
