CRUMPLER
GEAR FOR URBAN EXPLORERS
1995. Melbourne, Australia. A few men and women sit around and stare at each other’s scars, tattoos and bicycles, complaining about the state of their bags.
That’s how Crumpler started. With a bunch of gritty bike messengers trying to figure out a solution to messenger bags that could live up to their tough line of work.
No bag on the market could, so they started designing those bags themselves. What started small and chain-oil-dirty, stayed dirty – but got bigger.
Sticking true to its heritage in the bike messenger scene, Crumpler soon became a lovechild among urban species like street photographers, tech savvy apple friends, bloggers and different breeds of creatives; from graphic designers to street artists.
It seems Urban Explorers share one thing: a common appreciation for tough-minded design and hard-line quality.
