Djou-Djou Design

In Persia babies and little children are called Djou-Djou by their mothers, which means little bird. With this affectionate attitude two young mothers, Nancy Bockelmann and Sandra Trillhaas from Hamburg - one of them has Persian parents - founded the label Djou-Djou in November 2003.
The label Djou-Djou wants to show that useful baby-equipment and funny and aesthetic design can perfectly fit together. Especially young mothers love to have fashionable accessories. And they want their babies to wear and play with funny but also aesthetic baby clothes and toys.
Djou-Djou accessories are all very tough and of good quality and therefore perfect for the daily use. The design combines simple forms with expressive colours to create some bright accents in the baby-room.

Nancy and Sandra are always looking for new inspirations during their trips to New York, France and Italy. Back at home the two young women design the accessories and clothes in the evenings after their regular work.

Djou-Djou is also very committed to social responsibility. Therefore Djou-Djou produces all its products directly in Hamburg with local suppliers. And for every rattle sold, one Euro directly goes to UNICEF.
