ABOUT
Heralded as “Park Avenue Prince”, Douglas Hannant is the ultimate in American Luxury. Chic, modern, and sexy, his designs juxtapose day and evening, sportswear and couture, with a youthful regard.
Hannant launched his debut collection of “Modern Classics” in 1996 with Bergdorf Goodman. Displayed in the store’s Fifth Avenue windows, the collection caught the eye of the legendary Geoffrey Beene, who would become Hannant’s friend and mentor. In a note, Mr. Beene wrote, “Just when you think there is no hope, a beacon flashes. Your clothes in Bergdorf’s windows are superb. What a career you have before you.”
Since then, Hannant has cultivated a devoted following from both socialites and a roster of A-list celebrities, including Beyoncé, Charlize Theron, and Sarah Jessica Parker. His brand has expanded into bridal wear with the Douglas Hannant Bridal Collection, and it has made a foray into fragrances with Douglas Hannant de Robert Piguet, a collaboration with Robert Piguet Parfums.
Hannant’s first flagship boutique opened in New York's iconic Plaza Hotel in 2009, and it was followed by a seasonal boutique on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach. His collection is also available at specialty stores throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Hannant was born in Central Illinois and rose through the fashion ranks after stints in visual merchandising at Bloomingdale’s and Barneys. He holds a BFA from Northeast Missouri State University and a degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
