My HERNEL...

and I am at home everywhere!



One for All - All in One



I would never have dreamed this earlier ago: First thing in the morning, I reach for my favourite HERNEL. Still in my pajamas I wrap My HERNEL around my hips, grab a sweater and I am instantly ready for the first taste of refreshing coffee and snuggles from my kitten. My HERNEL accompanies me through my day, adorns me, protects me and gives me a feeling of home. I usually wear it losely wrapped around my shoulders, it keeps me warm sitting at my writing desk or spices up my dark suits when out and about. In business cothes to a relaxed evening party? My HERNEL makes this quick change possible: wrapped around the hips my clothes turn into an unusual evening outfit! Friends around me have gotten used to my turning my shoulder shawl into a roomy bag for this and that. After storing away things My HERNEL goes straight back to my shoulders - or for a quick rinse in soapy water. After one hour it has dried again and is spread out at night over my quilt to rest, ready to accompany me through yet another day. Two years ago this was completely different.





From Wrap to My HERNEL



At first My HERNELs were close to the artful wrapping cloths of my Japanese design friends in Tokio. Enthusiastically, I picked up the tradition to wrap and transport various things in the re-usable cloths. My first HERNEL-wraps were square cotton cloths died by hand. 'Much bigger' is what my friends said, 'softer and stretchier' said those using their HERNELs as shawls. Other customers asked for more easy-care or packable fabric, or patterns in vibrant colours and others wanted softer colourways. With the help of all this feedback I revised in 2010 the concept of the HERNEL and developed the new collection of cuddly wrap-shawls with their distinctive design border. I am happy to have received all the positive feedback to the continuously growing number of My HERNEL-models - and hope you can enjoy them too.
