What is the idea behind the Jumpster?
The label Jumpster was founded in 2011 by friends and fellow students from Cologne, Germany to check out, if true enthusiasm and passion for something completely new can excite others as well. The only constraint they gave them was: Only do, what you want to do the most!
Seeing, how an idea of pure and naive imagination becomes a real product that is appreciated by family, friends and complete strangers, has already been worth doing it!
The idea has its origins in the far north of beautiful Helsinki, Finland, more precisely in the dance into May, called „Vappu“ (Walpurgis Night). In Helsinki, Vappu turns the city into one big party for two days. Young and old celebrate peacefully and relaxed and look forward to the upcoming summer time of long and bright days. Traditionally Finish students use Vappu and similar events to wear overalls in the color of their student association. As proof of attendance everybody gets a batch that is afterwards attached to the overall, so party people are easily recognized. During one of many trips to Helsinki, we thought: That is cool, let’s make it even better!
Uncountable hours of experimentation with different fabrics, fits and designs later, highlighted by some creative moments, in 2012 the most relaxing, most casual and most unconventional garment could be presented, the JUMPSTER.
