Laura B

Laura B is a Barcelona based jewellery and accessories label created in France in 1994.

Laura Bortolami, its designer, was born in Rome in September 1962, the first born daughter of an Italian father and a Dutch-Indonesian mother. She spent her childhood until age 11 in Rome, and then moved to Turin where she lived until age 18. She then attended the ETI, Translation University in Geneva. She gratuated, and moved to Milan where a chance encounter with the fashion world of Giorgio Armani diverted her from translating forever.

After the experience with Armani, she belonged to the sales teams of designers such as Versage, Anna Molinari and Dolce & Gabbana. In the mid-nineties, relocated in Avignon, France, she started to design jewellery for herself. Stimulated by the attention it recieved in the fashion circles she moved in.

She began to produce one-off pieces individually designed out of antique beads, buckes, coins...assembled together with modern materials: Laura B Collection Particulière was born.

With Laura´s move to Barcelona in 1995, the company developed and expanded despite the trend towards minimalist adornment that endangered the sector.

In 2003, Laura starts Laura B for men. Today, Laura B has outlets worldwide, her modern approach perfectly expressing contemporary interest in unique, personal and striking accessories.
