A cynical, ruthless American journalist; bald eagles on the Rocky Mountains - Continental Divide, a 1981 movie directed by Michael Apted, fully embodies the attitude of ROBERTO COLLINA’s new MEN’s fall/winter 15-16 collection.

An unforgettable John Belushi, young and driven, discovers the poetry of pure love in the snowy peaks. Roberto Collina transposes this theme to fashion, so that untainted nature can act as nemesis to the frenzy of a modern and cosmopolitan city.

Comfortable and enveloping volumes are thus brought back, with the geometrical jacquards and Norwegian motifs, and tresses that marked the trends of the 80’s. Over-dyed patches in 100% cashmere jacquard and powdery colours evoke a vintage feel.

“Outside”, chunky jumpers replace jackets for a sporty look with underlying elegance.

This reissue glamorises the use of thick yarns, also when used in expertly crafted moulinés, producing unique and exclusive colour combinations. Despite the robust thread, the use of the best raw materials, such as cashmere, camel and yak, ensure complete softness. Warm cardigans to wrap into, V-neck or round neck jumpers in small or large stripe beautifully display the autumn colours, starting with browns, blending into chestnut and burnt and all the way to mustard. The colour palette includes English green and moss, as well as blues – from midnight blue to antique blue.

Sophisticated, refined, delicately enfolding - a COCOON collection!

Roberto Collina’s autumn/winter 2015-16 women choose autumnal shades that reveal their love for nature, combined with the cold hues of wintry nights. On the one side, we have a palette stolen from the chestnut woods with a thousand shades of browns and greens, on the other, deep blues and bluey-greys, together forming a magic, warm and enfolding concoction.

The collection is feminine and dynamically up to date, but also romantic – when stealing ideas from a sixties wardrobe inspired by style icons such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Sofia Coppola or Charlotte Gainsbourg.

At the forefront for next season, oversized coats combined with the modern cuts of knitted capes and ponchos, handmade in reverse stitch. To be worn with cropped velvet pants, long pleated skirts and even A-shaped cocktail dresses.

Knitwear in cashmere, cashmere/silk, alpaca, mohair and merinos wool toy with oversize boxy shapes or with shapes taken from the men’s wardrobe, or may even be a tribute to the art of knitting in the hand-made branded version of classic cardigans in mohair.
Among Roberto Collina’s new season’s must-haves: the classic stripes, in many combinations of colour and thickness, along with chequerboard motifs.

The Italian company’s research for unicity and know-how is fully shown in the garment-dyed tops and yarn-dyed tops on melange bases, which are beautiful and precious to their last detail.
Colours range from vanilla, almond, camel, oil, caramel, khaki, light and old rose to raspberry or black, navy, stone, light grey, aqua, bark, royal blue, slate, emerald and terracotta.
