Who is behind Flamingos?
In the French shoe designers world, a name keeps coming up. The name of a woman who spots them, supports them, defends them, who knows shoes like the back of her hand, who loves them so much that she owns an indecent amount of them.
Anne Blum is a goddess “from the shadow”. She’s been passionate since the 80’s.
Her job ? Shoe agent. To her credit, as well known as Michel Perrry, or todays “safe values” like Avril Gau or the young Thomas Lieuvin.
Anne is the heart of Flamingos, a touch of humor and simplicity. Her brand, created in 2012, interprets shoe giants to present fun and unexpected models.
Why this sudden urge of flamingos, would you ask?
Well, what would you do when you work too hard and you’re looking for a break? You launch your own shoe brand of course!
Anne’s collection is fun, simple and goes straight to the point. You take it, try it and adopt it. She presents few models and has two new ones per season.
What style do you create when you know the whole History of shoe with a capital H ?
Anne’s leitmotiv about her creations can be summarized in 2 words : “it’s cool”. And it’s true “because it refers to many things that we know” she confides. Anne mixes styles like a DJ mixes music and compiles mythic shoes like music samples. The espadrille drapes itself in leather details (first season), the sneaker adopts a jute sole, dad’s loafer plays with colors and lays on a gum sole, the skater shoe gets onto a platform and assumes the right to get sophisticated details.
Stylish, easy, cool, convenient, you just want to put them on NOW!
