Objects Without Meaning was created by Alexandra Michelle with a focus on developing clothing that emphasizes the wearer rather than the object. The focus of each collection is on the simplicity of its materials and the forms they take, designing each piece as a vessel to be filled by the wearer. In the process, Michelle strives to create honest, effortless clothing that carries no baggage. Rather than adhering to trends, the brand builds upon it’s vocabulary of forms and materials each season, creating a continual dialogue from one season to the next.
The brand was established in 2011 after Alexandra Michelle had worked in various roles in the fashion industry for over a decade. The designer chose Los Angeles as the home base for Objects Without Meaning after having lived and worked in multiple major cities. Each collection is produced in Los Angeles from conception to final product.
