AGNONA I CRUISE COLLECTION 2017
For resort, AGNONA creative director Simon Holloway rewired a Sixties'-inspired aesthetic through a contemporary lens.
In keeping with the brand's upscale heritage, the collection offers a soft, feminine approach on tailoring. Chic silhouettes, infused with a couture-like sensibility, are crafted from luxurious materials, worked in a sophisticated color palette, spanning from iconic yarn dyed tones of ivory, oatmeal and pale taupe, to a range of charming cosmetic shades of coral, lilac, nude and hibiscus.
A double-face coat in wool and cotton is cut with rounded shoulders and trimmed in suede. A fluid jumpsuit reveals a delicate bias ruffles at the bodice. A cashmere boucle sweater is matched with a silk plisse' skirt. A floral pattern inspired by an AGNONA'S archival motif from 1960 appeared on a punched suede coat and is worked in guipure lace on a wool/cotton double face slip dress. Flowers also give a romantic attitude printed on silk dresses and skirts. More body conscious silhouettes are introduced via soft but graphic color blocked shift and tunic dress. Sportswear is elevated through the use of precious materials and details. A light cotton/cashmere parka is lined with ivory fox fur, also crafted for a découpage bomber with injected a touch of playful eccentricity in the collection.
The lineup's sharp aesthetic is enhanced by accessories. Sleek boots are developed in two lengths. A tailored satchel is crafted from patchwork of tonal materials, such as full-grain leather, nappa and suede.
Nappa/knit shoulder bags continue the tactile and textural storm in delicate shades of taupe, nude and ivory.
