Akke Aimaq graduated with a BA degree in fashion design from the Academy of Fine Arts Maastricht in 2004. She then moved to Amsterdam where she focused on her passion accessory design. She founded the label AKKESOIR in Berlin after being involved in several international design projects.
For AKKESOIR, Akke combines and recomposes selected antique materials, which immediately received great international response and created a big buzz among the fashion scene during Paris fashion week and sells in high-end boutiques all over the world.
A distinctive feature of AKKESOIR designs is the use of sophisticated jewelry pieces with a vintage look and identity, which in unique combinations become modern badges of individuality and distinction.
AKKESOIR started with alligator bracelets studded with antique rhinestone elements and since then has expanded the collection to contain necklaces as well as python bags with chain handles and hand embroidered lace pants.
Celebrities like Rihanna and Katie Perry worn AKKESOIR on the red carpet and in high-end fashion shootings and enhance the growing list of fans. In summer 2010, Akke Aimaq won the Hubert Burda New Faces Award for her outstanding talent in the category “Best Accessory Designer”.
