LABEL
BRACHMANN Menswear modernizes the menswear classics by translating design principles of architecture into fashion, thus creating a cohesive men’s apparel line of urban chic and minimalistic elegance. Strongly influenced by the Bauhaus style, the label deconstructs menswear classics into their basic modules, out of which it recomposes hybrids, new silhouettes, and clever details. The brand's DNA is induced by precise cuts with strong lines, geometric shapes and layering. Manufactured in Germany BRACHMANN’s collections use high-quality fabrics made from natural fibres exclusively sourced in Europe. Sold in its Berlin showroom and in concept stores, BRACHMANN post-classical menswear addresses a contemporary man who wants to both express his individual version of masculine identity and respect the codes of classical men’s apparel.
COLLECTIONS CONCEPT
BRACHMANNs collections are characterized by its architectural approach towards fashion. The classics of men’s wear, with their distinctive characteristics are the “raw-material” of Jennifer Brachmann’s post-classical collections. She deconstructs tried and trusted garments such as the Trenchcoat, the Norfolk-Jacket, or the Riding Breeches, into their typical components, thus obtaining a series of freely combinable elements based on the modular-construction-system as used in architecture.
“Take for example the Trenchcoat, the form of the collar, the yoke as well as the specific fabrics are easily recognizable components with both sophisticated form and function”, explains designer Jennifer Brachmann. Brachmann recombines those typical components resulting in crossovers. And although actually “new”, familiar elements always shine through.
At the same time, Brachmann is intensely dedicated to detail in her work. She explains: “Through concentration on details, we can recreate the shape of the collar of a shirt, although the basic form of the shirt still remains the same. Or, I accentuate the construction of a garment through seam lines, through the use of subtly contrasting colors, or by inserting seams to separate and emphasize specific elements.”
Brachmann’s Post-Classical men’s collections offer clothes for every occasion to every man who values an equal caliber of style, modernism, and individual expression. Business suits with subtle details deserving of a second glance, as well as cool avant-garde looks for daily urban wear. Dressed in our progressive Evening-Wear, the man who prefers a look of minimal elegance, will cut a fine figure: whether at a party, or at big events, celebrations and other occasions, such as weddings or galas.
