Claudia Brandmair founded her label BRANDMAIR in the year 2004. Her design is characterised by an individualistic mix of materials, cuts, forms and classic tailor's craftsmanship. Her creations are eminently wearable, despite her experimental approach to traditional materials and the incorporation of unorthodox details. Her puristic basic is sexy and her minimalism has an innovative flair.
Claudia Brandmair was born in Vöcklabruck/Austria. Having spent her childhood in a tailor’s shop, she describes her method of designing as more artisanal than conceptual.
Unlike most of her designer colleagues, Claudia Brandmair did not study fashion-design.
Claudia won one of the Austrian Fashion Awards and started to work in New York City at the ateliers of Rubin Chapelle and Marc Jacobs.
In 2004, she presented her first collection not only in Vienna, but also – for the first time – in Paris for the showroomvago.
In 2005 she was awarded for the international pressaward, sponsored and initialiced by unit-f (association for contemporary fashion in vienna).
Claudia has collaborated on projects for Nike, Designerama on stage and MTV Europe.
In 2011 Claudia was nominated as the designer oft he year 2011 in Austria.
