Since 1949, the Lanificio Faliero Sarti, located in Campi Bisenzio between Florence and Prato, has specialized in producing fine quality fabrics for haute couture and prêt-a –porter. Each Faliero Sarti
product, from textiles for major fashion houses to their own scarf creations, is made of natural fibers such as wool, cashmere, angora, silk and linen. Products from the Lanificio Faliero Sarti are exported world-wide including Europe, the Far East and North America.
The Lanificio Faliero Sarti stands as a sole proprietorship since 1949, by the initiative of Faliero Sarti. From the beginning, the Faliero Sarti’s ideas were in step with the rising needs of the fashion industry: to manufacture articles with selected raw materials, to carefully treat fabrics during processing, to introduce the first processing of knitted fabrics and Jersey to Prato and to timely respond to the demand for quality for an increasingly selected market.
In twenty years, between 1956 and 1976, the company was equipped with its own internal and external structures, always under Faliero Sarti's personal control, specializing in manufacturing fabrics and carded combed yarn for knitting.
In the early days, the Lanificio Faliero Sarti was equipped with a weaver's room complete with 36 Dornier rapier looms, fundamental, particularly at the time, for the creation of an innovative variety of fabrics as well as a multiplicity of finishing machines capable of meeting production requirements. With the support of his executive officers, technical staff and production team, Faliero Sarti soon became a reference point in the industry and gained credit as a very prominent supplier for many leading stylists and well-known international manufacturers due to Sarti's innovative textile designs. Among the prestigious fashion houses, which still constitute more than ninety-percent of the Lanificio Faliero Sarti's production, include Armani and Donna Karan.
