In 2001, Harrys of London was founded with a vision of combining traditional cobbling techniques and the latest footwear technology. The overall goal was to create stylish, modern men’s shoes defined
by exceptional quality and timeless design. Harrys of London promptly created numerous instant classics,
including the signature Jet Slipper. The Jet Slipper is a colourful loafer with a soft leather sole intended for use in the carpeted confines of a private jet. The Jet Slipper continues to inspire, although in today’s climate it is more often seen looking stylish in a commercial jet. The evolution is the Jet Moc, a re-imagining of the
Jet Slipper with a streamlined rubber ‘skin’ outsole for versatility. Throughout the brand’s history, Harrys of London has retained an unwavering commitment to the founding principle that men’s shoes can be both timeless and innovative. This uncompromising vision has enabled the business to build an enviable reputation for quality and creativity.
Kevin Martel, a former design director at Ralph Lauren and Giorgio Armani, has masterminded a continued refinement and expansion of Harrys unique luxury hybrid concept into a full lifestyle collection defined by classical elegance and British heritage. Martel envisions embracing the brand’s roots by
designing intermittent collections tailored to specific occasions: England is steeped in the tradition of racing, shooting, sailing, tennis and polo. To that end, Martel will combine luxury and technology to cater to our clientele’s desire to partake in these traditional sports with an updated choice for their respective wardrobes.
Harrys of London currently sells the collection through its flagship store in London’s Mayfair, online at www.harrysoflondon.com, and through numerous global wholesale accounts. The company is well positioned for growth and properly structured to realise such opportunities, and to that end, Martel and his team are
actively identifying freestanding retail stores and shop-in-shop wholesale accounts around the world.
In 2005, following growing recognition of the brand around the world, Harrys of London appointed Kevin Martel to the dual role of Managing Director and Creative Director.
