Heliopolis dreamed of grand, magical creations like no other.

Recognizing a lack of fine quality costume jewellery, Heliopolis started fashioning showpieces that attracted stylists and editors to feature in magazines that were the thought leaders of their day. With its creations being better received in the industry than expected, a private atelier was set up to further improve its production capabilities.

As its reach expanded, wide editorial exposure in Her World Brides also encouraged Heliopolis to start customizing accessories that were characterized for bridal wear.

In time, more women looking for bespoke pieces that were unique and glamorous started to acquire many of its special designs and one-off creations. The team then began to market diffusion collections at major department stores such as Galeries Lafayette as well as C K Tangs. The latter offered the brand exclusive spaces to showcase their craft. These diffusion lines, being more wearable and affordable, were glitzy, with witty and whimsical touches, but connected well with the everyday woman. These items soon became a hit, and were featured extensively in top local and foreign fashion publications.

Even with the arrival of other jewellery brands in the 90s, Heliopolis stood out with their fantastical designs and show-stopping styles that were painstakingly handcrafted.

After two decades of fine craft, every single detail of each creation is still designed and produced in-house today, thanks to early investments in technology.

With experience gleaned from their resilient start, and many years in the global fashion industry, Heliopolis has carved a niche of its own with a loyal client base, with Jakarta being one of its major markets.
