Jardin de France was born in 1920 in Amboise, alongside the banks of the Loire river, during a period of high creative and industrial development. Modern perfumery emerges with new techniques of extraction and distillation and offers its creations to a wider audience.
In this background, M. Bonneau creates ‘‘la Parfumerie du Jardin de la France’’ in this region reknown for the beauty and richness of its gardens. His perfumery specializes right away in the creation and manufacture of Colognes, plant lotions and flower essences, all products that have stayed emblematic of the House. In 1936, M. Bonneau partners with Marcel Gozard, while staying in line with the artisanal perfumery of the beginnings.
Marcel Gozard, his sons and his grand-son, grow the family company for years. In 1996, they choose a successor willing to capitalize on the company’s roots and brand assets : Bertrand Sonnier, a young passionate entrepreneur. He follows the Loire stream and settles the business in Bourbon-Lancy, a thermal town. The original know-how and formulations are preserved. The love of craftsmanship and excellent knowledge of French olfactory heritage anchor Jardin de France as a brand recognized for the authenticity of its creations and for its quality raw materials.
