Julia Jung was born in Kazakhstan, in a mountainous region bordering on China, in a small village called Kok- Su, which in Kazakh means “blue water”.
“It was a very cold day, there was a strong snowfall, the temperature outside was -30 °. On this day I can remember very well, I was 4 years old, my grandmother entrusted me with the needle and thread for the first time.
In my childhood I spent most of the time with my grandmother. Since then, I started sewing dresses for dolls. My grandmother was my first teacher. She taught me how to combine styles and colors.
One of my grandmother’s hobbies was traveling and she always brought lovely dresses from her travels. She had a lot of beautiful dresses. Her wardrobe was a magical place full of varied colors and styles. Another grandmother’s hobby was reading romance novels, which stories took place in the beautiful castles during the days of the great kings and rulers.
So my grandmother was a consummate storyteller. I listened with bated breath to her stories about the magnificent castles of St. Petersburg and Versailles and imagined in my own fantasies pompous balls with richly dressed ladies.
When I was 8 years old I organized my first fashion show. I dressed my younger sister in clothes which I sewed by myself. She was the model and the guests of our parents the audience. I have never thought about the passion for fashion, it was quite natural and I have always known what I wanted to become when I grew up.
When I was 19, I read in a newspaper about a private school of fashions and decided to learn it. After my education at fashion school was finished, I wanted to learn more about textiles production so I studied textile technology and management. The knowledge and experience that I gained while working for 3 years for an international fashion brand were the basis for the creation of my own fashion brand.”
