mija t. rosa’s fashion style thematizes images of women that stand for self-determination, freedom of action and social barriers as experienced by women. Movie actresses as well as the characters they play are the most influential inspiration.
The relationship between real and utopian life plans is reflected by the shows; they are presented in a way that spans the genres, for example as dance performances. An album, akin to a storyboard, accompanies every concept for a fashion collection. Photographies are also part of it, a joint vision of designer and photographer.
Fashion designer Julia Cepp has been producing her line under the name mija t. rosa since 2001. After receiving her diploma in clothing technology, she studied fashion design with Raf Simons at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Her final year (diploma) collection, “Angles”, won the Rondo/Nokia Fashion Award in 2004.
